Fonoleptic

Xyn Thi & Fonoleptic is an AV collaboration between Rafał Zapała(EMS Synthi VCS3 & Max/MSP) and

Patryk Lichota on feedback video and analog video effects.

 

Rafal Zapała – composer, improviser, sound artist, Zapała does not recognise any boundaries between music acquired through academic education, experience of the counterculture and collaborating with artists from other fields of art. His music was presented at contemporary music festivals, jazz clubs, experimental music venues and open, public spaces. Artist-inresidence at Stanford University–CCRMA (Jan.-Mar.2014), Culture Center "Zamek" (2014), Świętokrzyska Philharmonic (2014/2015). Founder of many ensembles (contemporary, improvised, electronic music). His concept of Live Electronic Preparation (LEP Technique) is published at Oxford Handbook of Interactive Audio (Oxford University Press, 2014).

 

Patryk Lichota - musician, composer, improviser, radio producer. A graduate of Cultural Studies and Musicology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. A doctoral student at the department of Polish and Classical Philology AMU, lecturer at the Interactive Media and Performance faculty , a member of the HAT Center. Director of improvised music festival FRIV Festival. He plays the saxophone, theremin, zither, bass guitar and laptop. The leader of the audiovisual formation ‘KakofoNikt’ and co-founder of many musical and audiovisual projects, such as ‘Posoka’, ‘Stupor’, ‘Kurort’, ‘Ryzykowna Wyprawa Batyskafem’, ‘Disgrained’, ‘Fonoleptic’.

He has played and/or recorded with Blanka Dembosz, Pascal Battus, Bryan Eubanks, Kristin Norderval, Gerard Lebik, Arnold Haberl, Miguel Garcia, John Hegre, Mike Majkowski, Konrad Chyl, Hector Rey, Clayton Thomas, Piotr Mełech, Jeff Gburk, Jakub Paczkowski , Piotr Tkacz, Patryk Daszkiewicz, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Adam Gołębiewski, Witold Oleszak, Hubert Wińczyk, Rafał Zapała.
